Throwback Thursday: A very fratty Christmas

This week we’re feeling festive at Momentum. To help usher in the holiday, we’re enlisting the brothers of our once active Phi Chi Medical Fraternity chapter as we travel back to 1957.

This photo was included in the 1957 Baylor University College of Medicine Yearbook, courtesy of Baylor College of Medicine Archives.

We don’t have a lot of details about the photo, as the page in the yearbook was a collage of the medical fraternity’s events dubbed “Phi Chi Salient Scenes.” Though many yearbooks from this same era note that the College’s Greek organizations often held mixers for their members around the holiday season.

According to the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity’s website, the Baylor chapter was chartered on July 31, 1943. After more than 30 years of student life the Xi Chi chapter was “inactivated,” according the the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity website.

Recognize anyone in the photos? Were you a member of the Phi Chi Xi Chi chapter at Baylor? Share your experience in the comments section below.
