Throwback Thursday: Happy Holidays from the Baylor “Cowlege” of Medicine

Just in time for the holidays, we look back at a special holiday ornament commemorating Baylor College of Medicine’s participation in the CowParade.

The CowParade, an international art project, came to Houston in 2001 with the goal of raising money for Texas Children’s Hospital. As part of the project, the College’s Graphic Communications office came together to create the Baylor Cowlege of Medicine.

After the cow was painted, the Office of Communications ordered enough ornaments based on the design of the Cowlege of Medicine for every college employee. Thirteen years later, the ornaments can still be found hanging in offices and on Christmas trees across Houston.
