Baylor College of Medicine accepts ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Accepting the challenge from Texas Children’s Hospital CEO Mark Wallace, Baylor College of Medicine President, CEO and Executive Dean Dr. Paul Klotman took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

The group of more than 200 participants, including students from our four schools, faculty, staff and Dr. Klotman challenged Wayne Keathley, president of CHI St. Luke’s Health/Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center , Rice University graduate and undergraduate students, as well as all the students attending medical schools and health science universities across Texas to the Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise money and awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s disease”.

Dr. Yadollah Harati, professor of neurology, and director of the ALS clinic at Baylor, the only ALS Association Certified Center of Excellence in Houston, brought along his clinic team to take part in honor of the many people they treat and support daily.

Students from our schools joined in, as well as faculty and staff. The event helped raise funds for the ALS Association and the ALS Clinic at Baylor.
