It may not be a summer blockbuster or the holiday feel-good movie of the season, but this student is riveted. A Baylor University College of Medicine student devotes his undivided attention to the slides on a microscope to study in this photo from the 1964 Aesculapian yearbook, courtesy of the Baylor College of Medicine Archives.
Slides were a big part of medical education in the past and are used today, but in different ways. Many students still study slides of information, however, they are photographs of tissues and cells or digitally viewing slides.
