Throwback Thursday: The link between aging and exercise

This Throwback Thursday, we revisit a Huffington Center on Aging video from the past in honor of its 25th anniversary. The video below features astronaut and former Senator John Glenn, former President George H. W. Bush, and Baylor College of Medicine’s own Dr. Michael E. DeBakey, who have found that one of the keys to health and vitality as they aged was exercise.

The video was supported, in part, by a grant from the Novartis Foundation for Gerontology in Switzerland.

This month the Huffington Center on Aging celebrates its silver anniversary, with 25 years dedicated to academic entity devoted to studying aging, providing care for older people, and teaching future health professionals and researchers about geriatrics and gerontology.

Read about the anniversary celebration and a timeline of key events.

Exercise plays a role in our ability to stay healthy and mentally alert, especially as we age. What is your favorite type of exercise? Have a routine that works for you? Share it in the comment section below.
