It’s Thursday and you know what that means: A trip into the past for a revealing look of what Baylor College of Medicine was like. This week, our students are on display.
Explore this collage of student life from the 1929 Baylor University Round Up yearbook. (Just a reminder – the College was called Baylor University College of Medicine back then, and we were located in Dallas.)
While the yearbook doesn’t offer much by way of description, the photos reflect the style of the times. A time when students wore a dress shirt, tie and jacket to class.
An historical note: Cars were just beginning to transition from a rich person’s luxury to a staple of the American family. According to the Smithsonian Institute, around the time these photos were taken, approximately half of American households had a car.
